Hey, guys. My name is Rachel. I'm a senior studying exercise physiology on a premed track. And I'm originally from Iowa City, Iowa. Today I am still here in Milwaukee because Marquette's campus and this neighborhood have really become my home over the past four years, and I am not ready to leave yet.
So I just really love the city of Milwaukee. It was a key component in why I chose Marquette in the first place. I felt like there were so many opportunities that the city would provide, and I really just loved the urban feel. So I think in any direction you go from campus, you can really find something that speaks to you and is important in your life.
Two miles north of here, we have Brady Street, which has really great local food options. I like to rollerblade about a mile east of campus, and hit the lakefront, and hang out around there. I start every Saturday morning in a South Milwaukee neighborhood volunteering at a food pantry. And then I actually work just several miles west of here at the Herma Hart Institute at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
So there are so many opportunities. I always think I never run out of things to do. I run out of time to do things. So I hope you get the chance to experience Milwaukee in a similar way that I did and find the things that really speak to you. So please stay safe. Good luck. We're looking forward to all being back on campus. Go Marquette.
